Diddychwy plays Diamantina Drover
Love this song! Cliff the bass player sings Diamantina Drover. Diddychwy was fortunate to be the supporting act for one of Red Gum's last performances at Centennial hall in Adelaide. And it is Hugh McDonald, a former member of the folk band 'Red Gum' who wrote this song. According to Hugh's website, The Diamantina Drover "has been recorded by a variety artists including Lee Kernigan, John Williamson and Christy Moore, Ireland's most popular singer and songwriter." It's strange to think that a contemporary song writer wrote this song, for it's got the feel of a traditional ballad. I guess this song will be around for ages.
